Safe Computer Use...

 
 

DISPLAY

1. The top of your monitor should be at or below eye level. Place a stand or board under your monitor (if needed).

2. The screen should be 18~3O inches from your eyes or at about arm length.

3. The monitor should be positioned directly in front of you to avoid rotating your neck repeatedly to look at the monitor.

KEYBOARD

1. Wrists should be straight and relaxed
    Try a wrist rest or padded support to keep wrists relaxed

2 Use keyboard platform under your keyboard if necessary for added comfort

WORKSTATION PROPS

L Arrange your props to within easy reach. The mouse should be positioned close to the keyboard

2 Place the document holder and screen at the same height and distance. Use a bookstand if necessary.

LIGHTING

1. Avoid Glare! (Glare from uncovered windows, task lights or overhead lighting, etc. Make adjustments as needed).

2.  Adjust contrast and brightness control on your computer.

3. Purchase anti-glare computer screen fitters if needed

             4. Uncorrected vision problems can cause eyes strain. See your optometrist for an eye exam if necessary.
